Longer bio
James Carter is a British and Australian painter, writer and the founder of Creative Flair, the platform for working artists. He completed his BA in Fine Art and History of Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2026. His painting practice centres on a figurative series in oil about addiction, using realism and symbolic objects to examine behaviours that are normalised and persistent.
Through Creative Flair he runs The Public Canvas, a programme that places work by emerging artists on billboards in central London, alongside a community, a resource library and a membership for working artists. He is the author of VISIBLE, a field guide for emerging artists now in its second edition, and has been featured in Bold Journey, Voyage LA and CanvasRebel.
