All About The Beethoven Frieze: The Longing for Happiness Finds Repose in Poetry. Right wall

A tribute to the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven, this artwork was produced for the 1914 Vienna Secession exhibition. Klimt painted the mural on the Vienna Secession Building’s walls sparingly because it was intended primarily for the exhibition.

A replica of this painting has been on display since 1986, after it was conserved following the show. Printed on Austrian 100 euro coins in 2004, the mural’s popularity helped cement its legacy.

The coin depicts a knight in armour, a woman clutching a wreath of victory, and a woman with her head bowed and her hands clasped, all of which are symbols of power, ambition, and sympathy.
