Ecosystems as Living Communities Vol. III – Cittadellarte / Fondazione Pistoletto Residencies

Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte and UNIDEE Residency Programs, in collaboration with UniCredit Group, present the third edition of ‘Ecosystems as Living Communities’, an open call supporting two production residencies for emerging artists working with socially engaged practices that address contemporary ecological issues. Artists are invited to propose projects exploring ecosystems as interconnected communities of humans and non-humans – spanning technological approaches to ecological transformation, community engagement and environmental awareness, circular and regenerative ecologies, and sustainable futures. Two artists will be selected: one Italian and one international artist residing in Europe (EU member states, EFTA/EEA countries, the UK and EU candidate countries). Each receives a gross fee of €6,500, a production budget of up to €2,500, a research budget of up to €500, combined travel of €1,000–1,500, accommodation and a €25 daily allowance for up to 60 days; the new artwork becomes part of the UniCredit Art Collection. The residencies take place at Cittadellarte in Biella, Italy, between December 2026 and April 2027. Location: Biella, Italy (open to artists based in Europe). Fee: free to apply.
