Asian Cultural Council 2027 Global Funding Cycle – Fellowships & Grants

The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) has launched its 2027 global funding cycle, supporting artists, scholars, arts professionals and organisations undertaking cultural exchange between the United States and Asia, or travel within Asia. ACC is unusual among funders in that it supports open-ended research, cultural immersion and relationship-building rather than a finished production – grantees are given the time and freedom to engage deeply with a culture other than their own.

Four grant categories are available: the New York Fellowship (an immersive six-month residency in New York City for international artists and cultural professionals); the Individual Fellowship (a flexible programme with variable duration, budget and location for self-directed research); the Graduate Fellowship (living stipends for students from eligible Asian countries and regions admitted to US graduate programmes); and the Organization Grant (support for non-profits running cultural research, peer collaboration or access projects).

Who can apply: Artists, scholars, arts professionals and non-profit organisations across 16 disciplines. Eligibility varies by category – full details, eligible disciplines and country/region lists are on the ACC website. Since 1963 ACC has awarded over $100 million across approximately 6,000 fellowship exchanges to grantees from 26 countries and regions.

Location: International (US-Asia and intra-Asia exchange). ACC is headquartered in New York City.

Deadline: Applications open on Thursday 1 October 2026 and close on Tuesday 10 November 2026.
