| Biography |
My work explores concepts around identity, mortality, sexuality and the inner psyche.
I approach my work through a distorted lens, creating familiar but vague and unsettling characters that challenge social norms and stereotypes, especially those concerning the female body.
I am particularly drawn to fairytales and folklore and the way stories and literature can influence ideas and create archetypes and how in contemporary times that is communicated through the media.
I often use my own body as the subject, creating home made filters and using photographic principles to manipulate and distort reality, making all of the work ‘in-camera’.
I studied BA Photography at Nottingham Trent University and won the Women in Art Tim May Memorial Prize 2023.
