Hi I’m Shruti
I am a London-based performance and conceptual fine artist. My practice explores the intersections of embodiment, ritual as healing, and decolonisation. Through my current practice that spans performance, photography, and film, I investigate how the female body becomes a site of both resistance and renewal. My practice as a yoga teacher, holistic healer and retreat host informs my work. I am completing my Master of Research in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art. I have an MA in Advertising and the Creative Economy from Kingston University and completed my BA in Fine Art and History of Art from Goldsmiths.
My alter ego Camou Devi @camou_devi reimagines the South Asian feminine through a contemporary, autoethnographic lens — blending myth, mysticism, and lived experience to question how women camouflage themselves within patriarchal structures. Rooted in yoga philosophy and shaped by my background as a healer, my work often unfolds as ritual: a merging of the sacred and the everyday, of trauma and transformation where art becomes a form of invocation.
