I am Anujit Sarkar, a portrait/figure artist and a travel/street photographer. I come from the colourful and vibrant land of India, and probably that background germinated the ‘visual arts’ seed in me, encouraging me to pick up a pencil or a lens, to document so many interesting sights and characters and moods that happened all around me.

Coming to my drawings, I work mostly with charcoal, graphite and ink. I love drawing portraits and figures of humans and animals. I am intrigued with the awesome anatomy that we humans and animals have, and how they are similar internally at some level. I also do sketches of places while I travel. But human forms and faces are what attract me probably the most for drawing.

In my photography, I try to document people, places and culture mostly. I love to travel, and while travelling I capture moments involving humans, how they fit and contribute into their surroundings.
