Home is more than the place we inhabit—it is a layered, multidimensional idea that holds within it safety, belonging, identity, and memory. It is built not only of walls and objects, but of sensations, attachments, and relationships. For many, the bond with home can feel as deep and vital as the bond with the loved ones.
To have a home, and the possibility of returning to it, is a universal human need. Losing that anchor—or being forced to leave—can bring profound challenges. Yet there is also the possibility of new beginnings, new meanings, and unexpected forms of self-discovery.
Today, Ukrainian artists are navigating this shifting terrain. They are asking: What does home mean? Is home a reflection of personal history and memory, or can it take shape in unfamiliar surroundings? Can home be rooted in the presence of loved ones, existing wherever they are? How does it carry traces of our past while pointing us toward the future? And above all—what does it take to feel truly “at home” within oneself?
We are inviting you to the exhibition of Ukrainian artists living in the UK and abroad to explore these questions. Through their work, they share stories of the homes they once had, the ones they are building now, and the evolving sense of what home can be.
Among the artists: Natalia Revoniuk, Serge Ovcharuk, Nadiia Rom, Andriy Nekrasov, Nataliya Zozulya, Lusi Bogdanowicz, James Cartwright, Iryna Griffith, Maryna Karapetian, Ihor Kudelin, Oksana Voitsekhivska, Kateryna Kyslitska, Anastasiya Levashova, Yuliia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu, Anna Moskalets, Yekatierina Bondar, Olha Barvynka, Olesia Serohina, Iryna Miro, Olesia Kryvolapova, Tatiana Talshade, Oleksandr Litvinov, Olga Paskevych, Yaroslav Rus, Nataliia Popravka, Svitlana Borodynia, Iryna Kuts, Olga Grymailo-Smith.
