Title of Artwork: “Albers Light”

Artwork by David Michael Hinnebusch
Year Created 1997-2000
Summary of Albers Light
When David Hinnebusch was studying the work of Joseph Albers and Piet Mondrian under the guidance of Deborah Sussman at the Santa Monica College of Design Art and Architecture (S.M.C.D.A.A.) in 1997, he began working on “Albers Light,” which is the painting’s sister. “Albers Light” began as a series of colourfully printed “Albers” squares on paper. As a celebration of this belief, Hinnebusch painted over the squares with photographic tracings in 2000.
